modiinraananaBud's Boys Modi'in defeated the Ra'anana Raiders 7-3 on Tuesday, November 12 at the Baptist Village, as teenage sensation Binyamin Mor pitched his second complete-game victory of the fall season. Yoni Schwartz powered Modi'in's offense with a double in the first inning and a home run in the fourth.

The Raiders took a brief lead in the top of the first after player-coach Josh Weiss lofted a double to left-center and scored on an error. Bud's Boys countered with three runs in the bottom of the frame on a leadoff walk by Albert Levy and a string of hits by Noam Markose, Sammy Tover, Schwartz and Dima Ryabtsev.

Modi'in increased its lead to 7-1 after scoring a pair of runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. Except for Schwartz's homer, all of these runs were unearned. Meanwhile, Mor continued to pound the strike zone and received solid defensive support. Center fielder Albert Levy corralled long towering drives by Orr Gottlieb and Yaniv Rosenfeld, while Nissim Yechezkel made a key catch in the last inning.

Ra'anana pushed across two runs late in the game, sparked by another gap shot by Weiss. The defensive highlight for the Raiders was a perfect relay throw from center fielder Elan Bash to shortstop Rosenfeld, who in turn gunned down Markose trying to leg out a triple.

Action next week includes Jerusalem vs. Modi'in on Sunday, Ra'anana vs. Tel Aviv on Tuesday and Jerusalem vs. Ra'anana on Thursday. All games are at the Baptist Village field in Petah Tikva, game time 7:15 PM.
